In forex, IB stands for Introducing Broker.

What is an Introducing Broker (IB)?

An Introducing Broker is an individual or company that introduces new traders to a forex broker. In return, the broker pays the IB a commission — usually based on:

  • The trading volume of the referred clients (most common)

  • A share of spread

  • A CPA commission (one-time payment per client)

What does an IB do?

An IB may provide:

  • Guidance on how to open and set up accounts

  • Basic trading support or education

  • Customer service for local clients

  • Community or group support (Telegram, Facebook, Zalo, etc.)

  • Promotions or cashback (rebates)

IBs do not hold client funds or trade for the client — that’s the broker’s job.

💡 Why do brokers use IBs?

Because IBs help them reach more clients in different countries and communities. It’s similar to affiliate marketing, but for forex.

🔥 Example (simple):

If you trade 10 lots per day and the broker pays the IB $5 per lot, the IB earns:

👉 10 lots × $5 = $50 per day

If you trade more, the IB earns more.
